Keyboarding Skills are important because it helps us to increase keyboarding speed & accuracy, increase productivity and efficiency and prevent repetitive stress injuries and fatigue.

Main Discussion Tumblr_lrbisztI4t1qht847

But, if you can type quickly without using the proper keyboarding techniques, do you still need to study and practice the proper way (proper fingers to be used & proper posture)? Yes or no? Why?

Hello Ma'am Admin !

for me, you don't need to practice the proper keyboarding because you have already learned how to type quickly so its easy to you to remember the position of numbers and letters on keyboard. When it comes to proper posture, you don't need it. Just sit on the chair where you can feel comfortable . . .

hello madam jaytina lol!

without proper posture when it comes to keyboarding can stress your muscles and can lead to muscle pain especially on the upper part of your body and also to your hands.

For me , I think we don't need to study correct hand positioning but we need to improve our proper posture in keyboarding , if we are comfortable in the way we type, why not? But even though we are comfortable in a wrong body position in keyboarding , we are very wrong. That's my opinion , thank you~

For me, before I acquired the skill of typing quickly I study first the basics like asdf jkl;. However, maybe in some point because of quiet addicted to computer games before I became more familiar with the keyboard keys wherein keyboards is the fundamental device you need. So for me, you need also to learn the basics before you may acquire speed typing skills.

learning the fundamentals of proper keyboarding techniques is essential for a person using the computer, even if it means your professional in writing on the keyboard, you have to get back to square one, learning the fundamentals provides you a much more wider range of knowledge on why a person must learn the basics first, we all have to do the basics first when we try to start something right? more precision and accuracy on typing and proper positioning of the body, learning the fundamentals provides someone improvements on his mental and physical attributes. So my answer is YES

thank you for that wonderful question Smile
for me, based on my perception, it doesnt need to follow the traditional one if you were comftable enough to do it on your own way. That's all, thank you.

Health is important. Computer ergonomics were made for a reason. But I think it will not affect you that much if you don't follow the keyboarding techniques sometimes. Very Happy

Most of us do not follow the keyboarding techniques and honestly, I am one of them. But still I am always trying my best to follow the ergonomics for the sake of my health. Not using proper posture can lead to over fatigue and stress. While not proper hand positions can cause so much tiredness in hand. We need to do computer ergonomics because if we let our selves do the nakasanayan things in using computers it might be so much harmful so we do not change our habits. It doesn't mean that if can quickly type without following the guidelines you are good enough. It would be so good if we follow the rules, it is for the sake of us so nothings wrong following the right things.

I'm against on your answer that we don't need to learn and practice the proper keyboarding. WE MUST. Proper keyboarding was made for a good reason/purpose. lol!
